Melissa Hellen was elected vice president, and Tessa McDonnell was elected treasurer, each for two year terms.
The Intersection of Physical and Mental Health: Tools to Thrive and Prevent Burnout
Valerie Hellen, DNP
Valerie focused on actionable items for allied health and human services providers to implement lifestyle medicine fundamentals into their care. She outlined the research behind these interventions and prepared participants to initiate improved health practices in the care they provide to their clients. She offered participants ways to proactively address burnout risk in their practice.
Valerie Hellen, DNP, has a dual specialty in family and emergency medicine. She has worked in both rural and urban settings across the country, with an emphasis on the integration of physical and mental health. She strongly advocates for holistic care, with thorough patient education, lifestyle medicine, and minimizing barriers to access services. Dr. Hellen currently works at Rochester Primary Care.
